What is Devi Yoga?
Devi Yoga is a course designed to teach you how to do your own Yoga practice at home. Often our lives are so busy that we don't have time to attend a regular class but have a few minutes at home. It is also great to do Yoga outside on the beach or mountain.
You will be taught a routine tailored to your needs. It will include Asanas [ yoga postures], Pranayama [breathing] and a simple but effective meditation. Private or small classes are also available. If you have any injuries or problems Debbie also offers Remedial Yoga.
Together this practice gives you a wonderful tool that enables you to:
1.Balance your mind and body
2.Release physical tension
3.Increase general health and well being
Yoga is becoming more and more recognised as a valuable form of exercise. Working with the body and mind, it is more than just exercise. It is non competitive and offers the opportunity for an inward time. It is time for you to be present and to allow your body space to rest and recover. Our lives are usually so full that we don't have time just to be.
Once you have learnt some easy Yoga postures, they will assist your body to sit comfortably for meditation. Meditation does not have to be difficult, it is not about fighting with your mind to keep quiet but more about allowing the stillness to creep in and eventually to become the preferred state of mind.
